Is it worth to buy an iwatch 6/7?

If you are an apple lover, there is no need to look for information about this device, but if you are just looking for a good smartwatch then you’ve considered an iwatch.

I’ve used an iwatch for 1 year and 4 months and I’m not a lover of apple. To be honest, despite not being the best looking watch (I like the old watch styles) it is very convenient and offers many features like no other devices. Convenient to use with apple pay, long lasting battery, new ECG feature and great integration with apps and devices. But!?, and this is a big but. If you are going to use it for swimming, it is just not worth it unless you pay for the extended warranty. They do claim the waterproof will wear out, but I was a season swimmer that lasted only for 1-2 months swimming once or twice weekly for about 20 minutes and it only took 1 year and 4 months for it to become completely useless because I went back into the pool one more time 8 months later. There is no option to fix them, the genius store will only offer you to buy a second hand device for about 70% full price with 3 months warranty. So, it makes no sense at all.

Pros:

– NFC and apple pay, widely supported.

– Integration to reply, accept security requests unlock phone/computer.

– Availability for protectors, bands, customizable.

Cons:

– Misleading waterproof feature.

– Compatibility with other OS

– Looks

Summary: no complain about the device itself, except for the awful lifespan when used with water sports. Other brands offer much better protection that will last. If you want it, don’t submerge it or pay extra and keep upgrading every time apples comes with a new one. At least they receive your working old device.
